This is a pre-blitz design visit to gather ideas for the permaculture design of a Michele and Andy's courtyard in Windsor (blitz proper to be held Sunday 15th April).
WHEN: Sunday 25th March, 11am - 1pm ABOUT THE SITE The site is a small innercity courtyard separating two residences: a two-bedroom house at the front (street frontage) and a one-bedroom residence at the rear. The courtyard is small, irregularly shaped area of about 10 metres by 8 metres. There's also a driveway and the plan is to reclaim some of that for food growing. Constraints include the need for access to the back residence (back resident uses the driveway to access the site) and to the shared washing line. There are also two small dogs. Two 2100 litre tanks were recently installed and these provide all the water for the garden. A pergola is being installed at the North end of the garden - the idea is to grow deciduous perennial on it to shade and cool the house in summer. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing ideas and insights. Andy and Michele |
