This is a bit of a special one - we will be helping Dawny and her two kids, Adayah and Isaiah, make a fresh start at their suburban home in Sunbury. Dawny is a counsellor who practices from home, and the brief was for the garden not only to be chock full of delicious food, but also a place where people can come to feel restored and refreshed. To that end, we will be putting in a sensory garden which will grow fruit trees among lots of brightly-coloured and deliciously-scented plants, along a winding, meditative path on contour (really a swale in disguise collecting water and soaking it into the tree roots), a large no-dig vegie patch complete with herb spiral, a chook house, two ponds and several small tanks with some drip systems.... Lots to take part in and lots of fun to be had! Dawny will be cooking up some superb Indian curries to feed everyone too, and of course, there will be drums, and where there are drums, there is dancing...
The plan is to meet at Southern Cross to catch the 9.35 train out to Sunbury together - everyone should wear something RED so we can spot our fellow permies! Feel free to bring tools, plants, newspapers etc, we can all help out carrying them. And it's a Sunday Saver day too.
See you there!
