Well the pictures speak for themselves for this blitz - check out the before and after photos of Brenda and Rod's places in the Gallery. The day started at Brenda's where the volunteer crew included Paul and Kim, 12 Willow Lodge locals, 2 from Frankston, 1 from Doveton and 2 from Dandenong Community garden - the mean age was about 65. The team introduced themselves before looking at the task in front of us: to turn a pile of white rocks on black plastic into a beautiful, productive cottage garden. |

About 30 people, including a brief visit from Planning Minister Justin Madden, volunteered their time to help Ann-Marie turn her patch of lawn into a planted out no-dig vege patch with woodchip paths and potted friut trees. Another great mixture of new-comers and regulars, young and old, first-time gardeners and experienced gardeners, locals and visitors made for a fantastic social and productive day! |

Our aim To assist individuals and families set up edible home gardens to: * produce delicious, cheap, home grown veggies, herbs and fruit * develop their gardening knowledge and skills* learn how to use water efficiently in the garden* develop contacts with other home gardeners in your area* enjoy gardening together! How the edible gardens project works * We work with you to design a great food garden using permaculture principles. * With your help we organise a “Permablitz Day” where family, friends, neighbours and other volunteers come together to build the food garden, eat together and have fun! (Like a Backyard Blitz) * We provide any necessary training in organic food growing. |
