About 30 people, including a brief visit from Planning Minister Justin Madden, volunteered their time to help Ann-Marie turn her patch of lawn into a planted out no-dig vege patch with woodchip paths and potted friut trees. Another great mixture of new-comers and regulars, young and old, first-time gardeners and experienced gardeners, locals and visitors made for a fantastic social and productive day! This event highlighted that a successful Permablitz day, like a sustainable natural system, is dependent on diversity - and everyone who came along had a role to play. Thanks to Dale for his home-made treats, to Kat for her impromptu workshop of saving energy, and to all who took up the challenge of learning on the job to transform Ann-Maries backyard. |
